CTAS - New Admission 2017

The 2017 academic year yet again saw an overwhelming 115 applicants (94 boys and 21 girls) hailing from almost all 20 districts of Bhutan against an advertised intake of 35 (15 boys and 20 girls) students. Parents Teacher Meeting

The Parents-Teachers meeting for the 1st Semester was held on 18th March 2017 to discuss on the school programs, events and policies. Organic Vegetable Garden Session

Since 2016, after the proper fencing and water drainage system in the school supported by Capital Group Companies,UK and through Koenraad Foulon’s personal support, the students started to take interest to grow some organic vegetables in the school. On 16th March, Aum Tshering, a well experienced local farmer from Bumthang was invited to school once again to give guidance and a talk for two hours to help school captains and staff to learn new ideas on proper planning and growing vegetables at the school... New Boys Toilet/Washroom facility constructed


The school would like to thank Mr. Alan Bickell and Patricia for their generous support extended to CTAS for the Boy’s washroom reconstruction project. School Rimdo (Ritual Ceremony)

The 3rd annual school rimdo (a Bhutanese ritual ceremony) was held on 13th April 2017 at our multi-purpose hall in the school. The ceremony and ritual was presided by Lopen. Such rituals are conducted for the spiritual and psychological well-being of all our students, supporters, donors, well-wishers and for the school’s sustainable future. This year, our alumni made this program even more significant by sponsoring and offering the Kue Sung Thug Mendral (the traditional way to promote good health, happiness and prosperity to body, speech and mind)  to our founder Dasho Choki on his 80th birthday... Mr. Sabir Mohd Visit's CTAS

Mr. Sabir Mohd, Delhi India was in CTAS from 23rd till 29th April 2017 providing all the required technical support for BERNINA sewing and embroidery machines. During his five days stay in CTAS, Mr. Sabir helped with the repair and maintenance of these machines and gave advices on the better usage of the machine... [ CLICK HERE ]

Creativity Art Project

We would like to thank Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation once again for implementing a Creative Art Program (CAP) at CTAS in the field of tailoring in 2016. Since then we have been able to work on the development of the creative products and lessons for our students.  This year, we had Mrs. Gabi Mett from Germany and Mrs. Judith Mundwiler from Switzerland who are both professional artists and textile designers helping our students on textile design techniques, patterns creation, and the designing and creation of souvenirs... Teachers Day Celebration

On 2nd May coinciding with the Birth Anniversary of our Late Third Druk Gyalpo King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, the Teacher’s Day was celebrated at CTAS as was practiced in all schools across Bhutan on this day. The day began with lighting of butter lamps.
